
Immediate feedback is essential and gratifying. I will use this primarily for presentations and socratic seminars. It’s fast and easy! Students will receive their scores immediately after their presentation or discussion. To distribute assignments with a graded rubric, I I use Doctopus and Goobrics, which I will blog about in a couple of days.
What you need:
- Autocrat Add-on already installed
- Rubric for assignment with specific sections marked with arrows (tags) <<Name>> (see my rubric for an example)
- Folder w/ name of assignment
- familiarity w/ Google Forms
- familiarity w/Google Sheets
Step 1
Create a modified version of your rubric using Google Forms. Start with your Class period using the drop down option.

Student email. You have options two options: manually type in each student email or copy and paste each one like mine (from a Sheet).

Rubric categories w/ minimum and maximum using the linear scale option.

Grade w/ all the possible scores along with the percentage using the drop down option.

Comments section using the short answer option.

Step 2
When you are done scoring, click on responses and click on the sheets symbol to open it.

Click on Add-Ons, Then, AutoCrat . Finally, Open.

Step 3
AutoCrat will email your students their scores with the following steps. Title your assignment.

Choose From Drive and find your Rubric doc.

This will generate all your rubric categories. You must make sure that the column on the far right has the category name. If it is missing, click on the arrows, and add it.

Each rubric will be personalized w/ your students name just type <<Name>>

Choose the assignment folder you created. You will receive copies of each personalized rubric.

Share doc select view only or PDF.

To automatically email each of your students, type <<Email>> . You also need a subject title and brief message that you want students to see when they read your email.

Run on trigger, select yes. This will email your students their scores once you are done with AutoCrat.

Click on the play button to email your students their scores.

This is what your students will see.
